Research interests
Our laboratory is interested in molecular control of mitosis in human cells. Our studies focus on mitotic roles of the GTPase RAN, its regulators and effectors, in human normal and transformed cells. Our goal is to gain mechanistic understanding of the links between altered expression or function of key mitotic regulators, the onset of genomic instability and cancer. Related research interests concern the development of antimitotic molecules of potential therapeutic value in cancer treatment; and the implementation of live cell imaging methods in basic studies and in drug analysis.
