Dr. Sheng Xiao

Dr. Sheng Xiao served as a cytogeneticist and molecular pathologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School for 30 years. He has since returned to China, where he now leads the Advanced Molecular Pathology Institute at Soochow University.

Dr. Xiao is the Asian coordinator for The Atlas of Genetics and Cytogenetics in Oncology and Haematology, a role that enables him to organize educational events across the region. His mission is to disseminate the latest advances in cancer diagnostics and therapeutics throughout Asia, the world's most populous continent, so that patients can benefit more broadly from cutting-edge medical progress.

Dr. Xiao specializes in both cancer cytogenetics and molecular genetics. He is particularly experienced in the laboratory diagnosis of leukemia, lymphoma, and soft tissue and bone neoplasms. His research interests focus on cloning and functional analysis of cancer-related genes, as well as the development of novel therapies.
