Definition

Cardiac rhabdomyoma (cRHM), is a benign, smooth muscle hamartoma identified in pediatric patients, accounting for >60% of all primary cardiac tumors in this population,  and is also the most common cardiac tumor of the fetus. 1

Cardiac rhabdomyoma (cRHM)Cardiac rhabdomyoma (cRHM) is a benign tumour of myocardial cells. Frequently multiple, well circumscribed lesions, usually regressing spontaneously, often associated with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). 1-3 TSC is an autosomal dominant multisystem disorder caused by mutations in either of the two genes, TSC1 OMIM:191100 or TSC2 OMIM:191092
