Definition

Primary cardiac lymphomas are extremely rare entities, but secondary involvement of the heart by disseminated lymphoma is not uncommon. The most frequent primary lymphoma is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) (80%),occurring more frequently in immunocompromised patients. 1 Molecular subtypes of diffuse large B cell lymphoma are associated with distinct pathogenic mechanisms and outcomes. 2   Fibrin-associated DLBCL (FA-DLBCL) is a very unusual form of DLBCL, usually occurs in the context of a cardiac myxoma and associated with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) type III latency.  No specific genetic abnormalities have been associated with FA-DLBCL. 3
