Definition

Epithelial tumors are organized by tumor behavior, with squamous cell carcinoma discussed last. 1 90% of oral cancers are histologically squamous cell carcinoma.  The most common risk factors include the premalignant conditions, consumption of tobacco, betel nut, alcohol along with poor oral hygiene, UV radiations,  EBV and HPV, especially HPV 16 and 18. 2,3
