Classification

Definition

They can be either hamartomas (hairy polyp and salivary gland anlage tumor) or carcinomas  (low-grade papillary nasopharyngeal adenocarcinoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma).

So far, the lack of apparent driver mutations in 3 salivary gland anlage tumors, rare pediatric condition,   supports the classification of a hamartoma (nonneoplastic) process. 1
A single case of papillary nasopharyngeal adenocarcinoma harbor with a GOPC::ROS1. 2  Similar fusions has been reported in a variety  gliomas type. 3
